Eventually WhatsApp Pay has been started in India. WhatsApp is the most popular and widely used instant messaging platform in the world. WhatsApp Pay has started its digital payment services under NCPI with four big banks of the country.
WhatsApp Pay has started its payment services with four big banks of India:
1. State Bank of India
2. HDFC Bank
3. ICICI Bank
4. Axis Bank
At present, there are 400 million users of WhatsApp in the country. WhatsApp announced that it has gone live with these four big banks and it will provide benefit to approximately 2 crore customers in India.

WhatsApp announced on November 6 that its payment services will start in India. The NPCI allowed him to go live on UPI with 160 banks in November 2020.
Abhijit Bose, head of WhatsApp India in the Facebook Fuel For India virtual event said,
‘UPI is a transformational service and we have the opportunity to jointly bring the benefits of digital economy and financial inclusion to a large number of users who did not have access to it’.
Using WhatsApp Pay anyone can chat as well as send money to anyone at the same time. WhatsApp says that people can send money to any family member safely through WhatsApp Pay. You can share the prices of goods even without going to the bank. Payments facility on WhatsApp works on UPI just like Google Pay, Phone Pay, Bhim App and other bank apps. So there is no need to keep money in WhatsApp wallet. You can send money through WhatsApp Pay to every person who has UPI directly from your bank account.
WhatsApp Pay can be used on both Android and iOS platforms. For this, you have to connect your bank account with WhatsApp.

How To Send Money Using WhatsApp Pay?
Step 1: First open your WhatsApp & open the chat box of the person to whom you want to send money.
Step 2: Then click on Attach icon located at the bottom, & then select Payment option.
Step 3: Then click on Accept & Continue option.
Step 4: After that select your Bank from which you want to do the transaction.
Step 5: Then WhatsApp will ask you link your bank account with it.
Step 6: For linking. click on Verify your Phone Number via SMS.
Step 7: Then enter your debit card credentials to verify it for payment.
Step 8: After that click on continue and set up your UPI PIN number.
Step 9: Once done, you will receive an OTP which will be filled automatically, if not, then fill it manually and proceed.
Step 10: After this your UPI PIN is to entered, and then click on continue to complete the process.
Step 11: Once completed, you can open the chat section of the person to send money.
